Board term: 2026-present
Don Vu is a technology and data executive with more than 25 years of experience spanning some of the world's most consequential industries, from sports, media, streaming, and real estate to financial services, across both category-defining disruptors and stalwart Fortune 100 enterprise brands. Over that time, he has had a front-row seat to multiple waves of technology disruption, from the early web and mobile revolution through social, streaming, and now the AI era, delivering transformative impact at each inflection point through AI, data, and technology solutions that reshaped how organizations compete and operate.
Most recently, he served as SVP and Chief Data and Analytics Officer at New York Life, where he reset the company's AI and data strategy and capabilities, driving AI transformation across the enterprise through a portfolio of high-impact initiatives.
Prior to New York Life, Vu served as Chief Data Officer at Northwestern Mutual, where he architected the company's data and AI transformation strategy and co-led the Northwestern Mutual Data Science Institute, a strategic partnership with Marquette University and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, serving on its Executive Committee alongside university leadership.
Earlier, Vu spent 13 years at MLB Advanced Media and BAMTech as a founding member and leader of the analytics function, building what was at the time the largest and most advanced customer analytics platform in professional sports. Serving as VP of Data and Analytics across both organizations, Vu’s teams built machine learning capabilities at scale through BAMTech's spin-off as an independent streaming services provider and its eventual $3.75B acquisition by Disney. He also held a senior data leadership role at WeWork, where he built the company's central data analytics platform during a period of rapid global expansion.
Vu is an alumnus of the University of Virginia's McIntire School of Commerce and has served on the school's AI Task Force and Advisory Board for the Center for Business Analytics. He currently serves as an AI and Data Advisor at ICONIQ Growth and has been recognized among the top 10 Most Influential Data Leaders in the U.S. and featured in Bloomberg, the Wall Street Journal, and Forbes.
