Paul Perrin Receives 2025 Guerrant Global Health Equity Professor Award
Professor of Data Science and Psychology Paul Perrin has been selected as a recipient of the 2025 Dick & Nancy Guerrant Global Health Equity Professor Award. This prestigious three-year professorship is awarded by the Center for Global Health Equity at the University of Virginia and supports distinguished faculty committed to advancing health and well-being for underserved populations through research, education, and engagement.
The award provides an annual research stipend plus additional annual student support funding for each of the three years of the appointment. With the award, Perrin will expand his work at the intersection of data science and global health equity — advancing innovative, student-engaged projects and mentorship in this vital area.
Perrin holds joint appointments as professor of data science and assistant dean of faculty affairs in the School of Data Science, and in the Department of Psychology at the University of Virginia. His research combines data science, psychology, and public health to better understand and improve outcomes for individuals with neurological and physical health conditions, with a focus on how analytic methods and collaborative research can inform more effective and equitable care.
